The Center for Fitness and Wellness provides health and fitness assessments, body fat analysis, blood lipid and glucose panels, and wellness education for Penn State students.
The Center also provides instructional support for select activity-based courses offered by the Department of Kinesiology. Students enrolled in KINES 061, KINES 065, KINES 067, KINES 072, KINES 084, KINES 093 (cycling), and KINES 201 obtain fitness testing as part of the requirements for the course.
Additionally, The Center offers an avenue by which upper-level Kinesiology majors may conduct internships to gain clinical experience in fitness testing for future careers in Sports Medicine and Healthcare. Email Jennifer Niessner at jlk47@psu.edu if interested in pursuing a CFW internship.
Future plans- post-COVID-19- are to offer a variety of wellness and fitness testing opportunities to Penn State Faculty, Staff, and the general public populations.
