Applying

Have you read the Job Description and Qualifications and believe that a Federal Work-Study (FWS) position with Nittany Lions Read/Nittany Lions Count is right for you? We are excited to hear from you!

If you already have a FWS award, you should accept your award and then you may apply by visiting The PSU Careers Site, select ‘Student.’ This should bring you to Workday.  On the Workday page, select ‘Menu’ and then ‘Student Openings.’ and search “Nittany Lions Read/Nittany Lions Count.”  Be sure to filter for your campus.  Review the job description and apply to your position of interest.

If you do not yet have a FWS award, or are unsure of your eligibility, contact Carla Glisan, Nittany Lions Read/Nittany Lions Count Office of Student Aid Senior Coordinator, at cmg102@psu.edu to inquire as to your eligibility for FWS.  Please use your PSU email account to inquire and enter “FWS Eligibility” in the subject. You will receive a response to your inquiry typically within one business day.

Selected, eligible, and qualified candidates will be notified via email and will be invited to participate in an interview.  Instructions for scheduling your interview will be included in the invitation.  Selected individuals should carefully review this website for additional information related to the Community Service Federal Work-Study programs.  Applicants are asked to identify up to three Community Partners with whom they are interested in engaging.

Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer. Students applying for Federal Work Study positions should clarify expectations with their potential employer regarding either on campus/in person or remote work arrangements. A Federal Work Study award does not guarantee a job position is available.
