About me

I am a graduate student studying Chemistry at Penn State University. I obtained my BS in Chemistry at Case Western Reserve University and spent two years at Emory chemistry prior to moving with the lab to PSU where I am finishing my PhD.

I study bacteria, in particular how they use unusual nucleotides to communicate with each other and to respond to environmental changes.

Graduate school, and science in general, can be difficult to navigate through. I am working towards “demystifying” what life as a graduate student is like and promoting science education through various programs and short comics.
