The School of Music

As a graduate student in the Penn State School of Music, you’ll get the best of both worlds. You’ll have plenty of one-on-one interaction with faculty members and fellow graduate students through seminars, thesis work, and teaching opportunities. But you’ll also be a member of the wider Penn State community. That means you’ll have access to all the benefits of our flagship University Park campus, including its top 10 research library, the Center for the Performing Arts, and a wealth of events and activities.

We believe that the Penn State School of Music is an outstanding place to learn and grow. Our facilities include a 420-seat vineyard-style recital hall that has received numerous architectural awards. We are proud to produce over 400 concerts a year, and we regularly host masterclasses and guest lectures. MA students often choose to supplement their academic studies by performing in one of our ensembles.
