My blog from last semester was fun to write, but I don’t feel that I can continue with it because there’s really nothing more to write about, and I want to try something new. So this semester’s blog is focused on the day and life of a college student, particularly the experiences of freshman as we accustom ourselves to independence and a new way of life. Each blog post will have a theme and will be geared around a story, but they will ultimately fall under the general umbrella of college life. These stories are going to be funny, awkward, sad, and or happy brief snippets from day to day life and will have some deeper significance to our lives. I am mainly going to draw from my own personal experiences and from those of my peers.

The goal is to write something that people will be able to relate to and discuss, and hopefully enjoy. Therefore, some weeks I’ll be touching on more serious issues that will incite thought and reflection. Generally speaking, however, I intend on taking on a very conversational tone because I think that worked well with my previous blog. I want to make this blog very reader friendly and I hope to incite a lot of commenting, and I think that a majority of the conversation will take place in the comment section.

A few of my classmates used pictures and video clips in their blogs and I thought it made the postings more enjoyable, and it was a nice way to break up the posts. So I will be including similar visual aids in my posts. I also like the idea of encouraging further discussions by including links to articles that are relevant to my topic. I think that would facilitate the commenting process, so I will be trying that out and see how it works!
