E-Portfolio Intro

I am intending to use WordPress to establish my e-portfolio website. This is because it is foundationally the same as the psu.edu blog site we use. Because WordPress is the site that allows us to create our psu.edu blog site, I have a strong degree of familiarity with it from working within the program over the last two years.

In terms of my general organisation of the site, I would like to categories my tabs by topics and then filter in my work throughout these topics. The tabs I have in mind are: Fencing, International Baccalaureate, Scouting, Environment, and Resume. A lot of my writings and themes in college have revolved around these topics and these first four things have played a major role in shaping me into who I am.

  1. I think that WordPress is a good option in terms of familiarity and ease of use. I also think that your tabs encompass a variety of topics and interests, which I think would make for a great e-portfolio that summarizes who you are.

  2. It looks like you have a good idea of what you want your e-portfolio to look like. I’m sure WordPress has suitable website templates for an e-portfolio as well.

  3. I like your ideas for your topics, but just make sure that you have a clear audience at hand while you are writing and creating your entries. WordPress is also an interesting platform to present a portfolio, but I agree with you that it is familiar and easy to use.

  4. I think that you have a good direction in discussing the things that you feel have shaped you into the person you are. Building on what Sylvia said, I would ensure you have a distinct audience before beginning to attack the portfolio, and allow that to guide what you include.

  5. I had a similar thought about WordPress, but ultimately decided to use Wix. However, I do think that a degree of familiarity can really help when developing a successful project. While the topics you have chosen seem pretty disconnected, your paragraph about how they shaped who you are today really helped me understand the connection. I would add something similar to your website to help your audience.
