Pathways 10 is a career and college awareness program that all 10th-grade students are eligible to participate in. This free program introduces students to professionals from academia, medicine, government agencies, business, and industry for a day of workshops and discussion. It also provides teachers with information to guide students toward career opportunities in STEAM fields. In addition, 10th graders will gain insight into the college application process through participation in a college resource fair. During this fair, students will learn about steps they should take to apply to the college/university of their choice as well as general resources that would be available to them on a college campus such as financial aid, career services, student affairs, and academic supports.

Description and Participants
All high schools (both public and private) in the Penn State York service area (which includes York County, parts of Adams and Lancaster Counties, as well as several schools in Maryland) are eligible to attend Pathways. We also invite established groups of York County home-schooled children and charter schools, both “bricks and mortar” and cyber (that enroll York County students), to participate in our program.
Penn State York is proud to offer this experience free of charge to participating schools. There must be one adult chaperone (either a teacher or school-approved volunteer) per twelve students who attend. Schools may request to bring more than twelve students by contacting the Pathways Coordinator before registering for the event.”
