Topic: encouraging a shift away from the use of plastic bags in retail locations on campus and downtown at PSU
Audience: Three fold – businesses, administrative parties (possibly including local government and school administrators), and citizens. I’m unsure if we’ll approach all three separately, and to what degree we will.
Mode: Depends on the audience. For an administrative audience, and likely for the business audience as well, a report-style approach would likely be the best choice, highlighting the benefits of doing so (there have to be some), as well as the successes of other campaigns with similar goals. I’m not as sure with an audience of citizens, just because they tend to be harder to convince in the long term.
Occasion: PSU has an active green culture, and the community seems to be receptive of green initiatives, so I’m not we need an occasion. With that said, Earth Day is coming up.
