Clean Face and Healthy Skin: My Skincare Routine

Don’t we all wish we had clear, smooth, and healthy skin? I know I do. My skin is oily and one minutes it’s clear while the next minute I’m having a breakout. It’s so annoying. I don’t spend a lot of money on skincare products but these are the inexpensive products and steps  that I use in hopes of achieving that goal of clear, glowy skin. I do this routine every night and every morning.

Cleanse: Clean & Clear and Cetaphil

The first thing I do in my skincare I do is cleanse my face. It is important to wash away all the dirt and oil that has accumulated throughout the day. The Clean & Clear Morning Burst is a great cleanser for the morning. It is very hydrating and has gentle beads that mildly exfoliates the skin. It also has a refreshing cucumber smell from the cucumber extracts inside. This retails for $5.49 at Walmart and target. At night I use Clean & Clear’s Deep Action Cream Cleanser or Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Cleanser. I usually use the deep action cleanser but if I wore makeup that day or just want to do more, I’ll use the Cetaphil cleanser. Sometimes I use both. The price for the Cetaphil cleanser differs depending on the size of the container.

Exfoliate: Clean & Clear

After I wash my face I exfoliate…Sometimes. I don’t always exfoliate but when I decide to do so, I use the Clean &  Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub. This scrub feels very cooling and “minty”. After using this product I can feel a difference in my skin. I like the scrub because it’s not too harsh but it still gets the job done. This product retails between $4 and $6 depending on where you buy it from.

Astringent: T.N. Dickinson’s

After cleansing and exfoliating my skin I use T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel. This is a natural astringent that helps relieve inflamed and irritated skin and also evens out skin tone. I like using this after I exfoliate because sometimes after exfoliating it makes my skin feel dry. This also makes my skin feel smooth and hydrated. This retails for $3.59 at target

Acne Treatment: Clean & Clear

After using the witch hazel I use Clean & Clear’s Advantage acne spot treatment. I use this on the areas that I have a breakout.

Moisturizers: Clean & Clean , Cetaphil, and Aloe Vera Gel

At the end of my routine I moisturize. If I have a breakout I use the Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer, but if my skin doing well I use the Cetaphil Daily Moisturizer. After using either one of the moisturizers I use aloe vera gel to lock in the moisture. Lately, I’ve been using all three. Since all of the moisturizers are very light they do not clog my pores. I love how refreshed, hydrated, and glowy my skin has become since using all three at the end of my routine.
