Rasa Drane – Director of Admission for the Mastery School of Hawken

Rasa Drane is the Director of Admission for the Mastery School of Hawken, a high school centered around student interest and community problem-solving, which will launch August 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio.  Prior to joining the Mastery School project, Rasa served as the Assistant Director of Multicultural Outreach in Penn State Undergraduate Admissions and chaired signature events like Spend a Fall Day and Achievers which promoted the recruitment of underrepresented students to the Penn State system.  The highlight of Rasa’s career at Penn State was connecting with undergraduate students as the co-advisor for S.M.A.R.T., chaperone for National Pan-Hellenic Council and Caribbean Student Association events, and volunteer work with the Student Leadership Development Institute of the Pennsylvania Black Conference on Higher Education.  As a proud graduate of Bethune-Cookman University and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Rasa is committed to her continued development as an education advocate like her alma mater’s founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune.  In her spare time, Rasa enjoys writing and producing stage plays and films, dancing, and spending quality time with her husband, Greg, and their two children.
