Social Impact Enterprising: Building A Network and Community While Building Your Bag!
Often times when socially conscious individuals seek education on how to provide transformative support to their communities they are usually ushered toward working in the field of non-profit. This practice has prompted many communities of color to approach issues that are impacted and influenced by poverty from a deficit model. This presentation will challenge misconceptions regarding education, accessing information and the real resource needs in many marginalized communities. We will explore the facts regarding our education, community value, gentrification, displacement, and investment. This presentation will incorporate a power point that includes: spoken word, videos, pictures that illustrate the point of the presentation.
