My Dream Home

Last Spring I had the opportunity to travel to Aspen, Colorado, with my family for a ski trip. Aspen, Colorado is known to be one of the oldest and one of the most well-known ski results in the country. When I was travelling to Aspen with my family I had no idea what to expect. Yes, I had been on previous ski trips, but I heard this town is like no other place, and that is completely correct. Upon arrival I could not believe how in love I became with not only the town of Aspen but the overall atmosphere. The atmosphere was so sensational, everyone was so happy and carefree, even the locals! I couldn’t wait to hit the slopes with my family the next day!

The Aspen ski resort is made up of four different mountains: Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk, which are all easy travelling distances from one another. We were able to travel to three of the four mountains and each ski day had amazing conditions. Even though all mountains are located in the same town their terrain and conditions differed greatly, which made it more fun. The best day of skiing was on March 19, 2013, of the trip because not only was the resort we travelled to, the Highlands, our favorite mountain but it was also my eighteenth birthday. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my birthday doing anything else!

After the trip concluded I wanted to immediately make plans to visit Aspen the following year. Hopefully my family and I do get to travel back to Aspen over Spring break. One day I do have a dream of living in Aspen. My life would be complete.

Skiing out West is a completely different scene compared to the Northeast. I have skied at numerous places in Vermont and it does not even compare to when I went to Park City Utah with my family. The mountains are bigger, the trails are more numerous and diverse, and the snow is softer.

I was also in Aspen the past few years. I had to same experience the first time I went, I loved it and immediately knew I wanted to go back. Since the first time I went to Aspen, I knew that is where I want to live.
