Reflection for 9/1/14 to 9/5/14

It was Labor Day on Monday, so I got a late start to the week. I also WAH in the AM on Tuesday and Wednesday. It has been a busy week.

I’m working with a faculty member on a 402, and we have another 402 ready to run as well. This is alot of work that needs to be completed quickly. I’m hoping that both courses come together well.

I went to a Penn State forum by Charles Brock: http://sites.psu.edu/forum/2014/03/13/charles-brock-2/. He’s definitely a complex person who could identify with Nixon and Obama. The biggest take-aways for me was the thought of needing to move away from the binary way of thinking. Nothing is completely right or wrong. Too many people try to paint the other side as being wrong and can’t see their own flaws.  Also, I can see how freedom is not necessarily a democratic trait. His point was that oligarchies can also have freedom.

Kent ran a nice session on pretotyping during our weekly meeting. It focused on making a prototype to help move an idea forward. I had the idea of the iVault which would serve to untether us from our mobile devices and help us to reenter.

It’s Friday at around 5:30, and I’m still trying to tie things up. This was a long arduous day, so I’m looking forward to getting some family time this weekend.
