ROBOT CHALLENGE GUIDELINES
Maze criteria
- Maze can be auto generated online http://www.mazegenerator.net/
- Maze is made out of tape and paper cardboard or other equivalent materials
- Bonus points will be awarded if robot was able to pass barriers
- The maze should have at least two 90 degree turns and 2 dead ends
- The robot will be fully autonomous, no hard coding to make it follow a specific path
- The path width will be 12 inches max (12 is recommended)
- The correct path for solving the maze will be 5 feet minimum
- Harder the path the better.
Trash Collecting criteria
- Each piece of trash will be a standardised crumpled up piece of notebook paper.
- Trash needs to be scattered randomly
- Make borders out of tape and put the trash in the border, the robot can find it using ultrasonic sensors.
- When the robot detects trash have the robot have an LED turn on
- TI Robot picks up trash and moves it to a trash can (a designated area)
- Robot has to start 2 feet away from the trash area
For both challenges each member will videotape results and submit the video. The winner will then be voted on. The project will be due next semester, the winter break can be used to working on the robot.
