This is my second consecutive year living in the United States.  Despite being so close to New York, I missed out on the celebrations at  Time Square New York, last year. I was not going to let it happen again. So, I and a couple of my classmates decided to drive to New York to celebrate the New Year this time around. It was a five hour drive, but we were able to make it fun, thanks to the very inspiring movie ‘Night at the Roxbury’.

I learned that watching the ball drop is a huge deal here in United States. People started flocking into Time Square as early as 10 am and stand almost the whole day to get a glimpse of their favorite performers at midnight. I understand it is important to get the complete experience, but I just couldn’t get up that early on a holiday. So we decided to buy tickets to a party that was organized close to the ball drop. The party was organized in a movie theater and we caught up on movies the whole day. When it was time for the ball drop, all we had to do was come out of the theater and walk across the street. At least, that’s what we thought. As it turns out almost everyone in New York is that smart and there was still a lot of rush. Despite the huge rush, we were still able to get a good view of the Time Square Ball Drop and it turned out to be a good experience. Everyone should see it once, but I believe once is good enough.
