Actionable Proposals
One of the core goals of TAMIS is to “serve as a catalyst for changes to changes to teaching, mentoring and research practices.” To help meet this goal, we hope to identify concrete action items that promote inclusivity within the scientific community. Through open discussions and collaborative efforts, TAMIS works to uncover the challenges faced by underrepresented groups in science and develop practical solutions. These action items are designed to be implementable at various levels, from individual labs to university-wide initiatives, helping to create a more equitable and supportive environment for all.
As a community-led initiative, TAMIS operates independently of institutional structures, which can make the development and implementation of action items a slower process. However, we hope that this grassroots approach allows our efforts to be deeply reflective of the community’s needs and perspectives, fostering meaningful and sustainable change over time.
Our current actionable item focus is on Lab Compacts.
