I’m going to use this blog as a space to share advice/ tips I have for other musicians, whether just starting out or highly skilled. It will mainly be centered around singing, but some posts may be relevant to other instruments or overall musicianship. This advice is going to be anecdotal and so it will feature a lot of personal experiences and feelings of mine on particular aspects of music and performance. I by no means consider myself an expert on any of these topics; nonetheless, I’ve been involved in music since I was very young and feel that my advice and opinions at least carry some validity.

Because you’re not an expert, it might be useful to think of this as an “we’re all in this together” kind of blog. I think that embracing your own “noviceness” might be an endearingly nice way in. Imagine your audience. You don’t want them thinking: he doesn’t know anymore than I do, so why read it? Instead of advice, maybe you go the route of: Here’s what I’m trying, how ’bout you? You might find your way to a lot of comments and good advice and maybe even some guest bloggers.

This idea has a lot of potential and can really bring out readers with a, perhaps, latent desire to learn music. It would be nice to see a realistic lens of a musician and the honest struggles and breakthroughs that you may not hear about if you were to follow professional musicians. I’d be really interested in reading about some of the things that didn’t work out and how you managed those difficulties.

While I am not a musician, I am certainty interested in hearing about your experiences with music
