One of the benefits of the Internet is that students can access multiple sources of information. The disadvantage is that students may not know the best resources to use.
A list of discipline-specific or course-specific links can lead students to better resources and help them understand what constitutes a quality source of information.
Any link collection should include descriptions of the purpose of the links; for large sets of links, you may also want to organize links into categories.
Links Can Include
- External study guides
- External multimedia, surveys, or exercises
- News sources relevant to the course
- Sources of research data
- Discipline-specific bibliographies, journal titles, or library guides
- Examples of online Internet communication
