Your teaching philosophy statement should be a personal reflection of how you view the teaching process. This can be a formal essay or an informal reflection of your experiences as a student or a teacher.
Your statement can focus on some of the following questions:
- How do you define effective learning or teaching with technology?
- What do you think are the best ways to teach with technology?
- Why do you have these beliefs?
- What are the most important parts of your discipline to convey to students? How does your teaching philosophy and use of technology tie into this?
Your philosophy is considered to be one of the most important parts of the portfolio because it gives you a chance to reflect on why you may select certain teaching strategies. You may want to write a draft early in the process but revise it later if you change your perspective.
