Humans have impacted ecosystems worldwide, often with devastating consequences. Recent research has suggested that evolution can occur at ecologically relevant time scales to help mitigate these consequences. I research a variety of evolutionary responses to humans.
My goal as a teacher is to provide students with opportunities to explore the process of science. I teach a variety of courses including non-majors plant biology, genetics and molecular biology using active learning techniques to engage students.

In concert with Jared Griffin, an undergrad in the lab, I authored two talks this summer. At Evolution, Jared presented a talk titled Sexual Selection in Plants: History and Bias. At Botany, I presented a talk titled Variation in pollinator
8 students presented their research at the local research fair and 3 were invited to the regional research symposium. Congratulations everyone!
