Dr. Megan Van Etten – Assistant Professor
Earned her PhD at the University of Georgia with Dr. Shu-mei Chang working on the evolution of gynodioecy. Various postdocs followed with Dr. Johanne Brunet, Dr. Jennifer Tate and Dr. Alistair Robertson, and Dr. Regina Baucom working on projects understanding how the environment influences ecological and evolutionary processes. At Penn State she teaches classes ranging from plant biology to molecular biology. In her free time she loves spending time outdoors, gardening, doing puzzles and reading. Jared Griffin – Undergraduate Researcher
Jared started in the lab in 2018 and graduated in 2022. He has worked on many projects in the lab including the history of bias against plants in evolutionary studies, learning in Mimosa pudica, pollinator declines, variation in selection and causes of long-COVID.
Sarah Sherpinskas – Undergraduate Researcher
Sarah started in the lab in 2021 and headed up an experiment looking into a Brassica rapa mutant. You can view her excellent poster that won 1st place in the local research fair and was invited to the regional fair.
Krutik Solanki – Undergraduate Researcher
Krutik started in the lab in 2021 examining how soil bacteria affect plant growth.
