Participant Etiquette Guide Example

Provide the following information to participants prior to the videoconference:

  • Arrive or login a few minutes early.
  • Cell phone signals may impact the conference audio. Please keep turned off.
  • Raise your hand to talk including using the Virtual Hand Raise tool when online. Do not interrupt others when they are talking.
  • Speak naturally in the direction of the microphone.
  • Microphones are very sensitive and may pick up even quiet conversation or comments. Avoid coughing into microphones, drumming fingers, or carrying on side conversations.
  • Mute your microphone when not speaking.
  • Identify yourself when speaking for the first time.
  • Pause occasionally so others may make comments.
