Hi everyone, this is Yuki (she/her). I’m a transfer student, pre-majoring in psychology and majoring in international politics with a concentration on international relations. I am studying psychology because I would like to learn more about mental health especially music therapy, which is the field of study, I’m going to pursue after graduated from Penn State. In Psychology Club, I am working as secretary, and broadening my horizon toward cultural differences in a conversation of mental health. I’m part of Psychology Club to learn more about psychology and sub-fields of psychology. I am so excited to work and cooperate with other officers and participants of monthly lectures.

Hi everyone! My name is Elizabeth (she/her), and I am excited to be your Membership Coordinator for the WCPC. I am a Psychology Major, also working on a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. I plan to continue my education after graduation with a master’s degree in either Clinical Psychology or Social Work, with a focus on helping children and adolescents with ADHD. When I am not working on my degrees, I spend time with my husband of 18 years and our sons, ages 20, 16, and 10. Our family is rounded out with our two crazy beagles that keep us very busy and active. In my spare time, I can be found reading, going for walks, and spending time at the Jersey Shore.

“I am out with lanterns looking for myself” – Emily Dickinson
Hi, my name is Zia and I’m delighted to take up the role of Editor in Chief for Mind Over Matters at WCPC. I grew up in India and moved to the USA with my family recently. I am a psychology major at Penn State and after getting my degree I am focused to get into Grad school for a PhD and study Infant and Toddler’s development and dive into how they view society. I am also Assistant Lab Manager of Online Students of Psychology Research Lab (OSP) where I am studying Correlation of dietary choices and helping attitudes between Millenial and Gen Z. I am also involved as a research assistant with Personality Assessment & Program Evaluation Research Lab (PAPER) where I work under Dr. Sharon Nelson. I have loved reading and writing since I was a little girl. Reading Disney novels helped me unleash my creative side and it started as a hobby of writing princess short stories, which turned into writing blogs and academic research papers. Outside my academic ventures I love to swim, watch TV, cook Mexican food and spend quality time with my friends and family.
