新华字典 (Xinhua Zidian/Xinhua Character Dictionary)

xinhua-zidianXinhua Zidian, or Xinhua Character Dictionary is a long-time best seller dictionary of simplified Chinese, which is compiled by the Institute of Linguistics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and published by the Commercial Press. The latest version is the 11th edition published in 2011. A dozen free apps and websites under the name of Xinhua Zidian are available online, but they are NOT issued by the Institute of Linguistics.
