Outline of Ted Talk

Introduction:How you depend on your family and everything they do for you so that you can survive as a child. How they influence you as you go through college and completely transition from living with them constantly to only seeing them every once and a while. How as an adult they rely on you to do almost everything for them.

Phrases: Dependency as a child, young adult, adult

Talking point 1: How as a child you depend almost solely on your parents to feed you, help you, take you to school. Everything that you are not able to do by yourself, they assist you with. They teach you everything you need to know to survive. They also have absolutely no reliance on you at that age although some parents do expect some activities to be done such as chores and other stuff.

Phrases: Day-to-day help, chores, learning

Talking point 2: How moving away from them and the transition from you depending solely on them to a mutual back and forth relationship of assistance and dependency that leads to possibly more dialogue between two parties.

Phrases: equal assistance

Talking point 3: How as a grown adult and your parents are a bit older they rely on you for a lot more than they did when you were a child. Also, the transition from being taken care of to taking care of your family members then they are older.

Conclusion: How the development of all phases in your life react with the increasingly technological way point of today’s modern age.

  1. I think that this TED talk is going to be really interesting and I really like how you’re blocking off your talking points. I’m also interested in hearing your finished conclusion because I think it’s going to give a really interesting perspective on this issue, especially given the fact that we’re just transitioning into that state of adulthood where we will start needing to take care of our parents more.
