1. Wanderlust.
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines wanderlust as a strong longing for or impulse toward wandering/traveling. I consider myself a person who has wanderlust- since I was young, I have wanted to explore different countries around the world and learn about the characteristics that make cultures unique. I would like to make a blog where I compare and contrast different aspects of cultures around the world; discussing different topics like music, food, history, and art. Also, I would like to touch upon the diverse ways of thinking in those countries. I want to talk about the way folklore has influenced modern popular culture in each country, or about the similarities and differences between the younger and older generations of each country. I do not have planned to choose any specific countries to talk about, but I might mention some countries in more than one blog post once in a while.
2.Where do Idioms come from?
I have always found idioms interesting, especially the ones in English since they are very different from the ones I have in my country. I find them interesting because if you think about them in the literal sense, they make no sense at all; yet we use them often and we don’t even know where they came from. I think it would be fun to make a blog about different idioms (not just English idioms but from everywhere) and talk about where the expressions came from. I might also mention some words that are not in the dictionary, but that people still use frequently, and how those words came to be.

To be honest, where idioms come from is something that sometimes perplexes me. I do occasionally get to thinking about language and some idioms seem so ridiculous that it’s difficult to even imagine how they might have been created in the first place. I would love to have a bit of light shed on this subject. In regards to wanderlust, I’ve done my fair share of travelling in my life, perhaps I might be familiar with one of the countries you have interest in. It would be interesting to see my opinion on the country compared with yours.

Thank you for teaching me a new word today! Your passion blog seems really interesting and covers many topics. I look forward to learning something new about the world around me. I would love to see something about Japan, South Korea, or India. Their cultures has always been a mystery to me. I’ve always found the idiom “Lend me your ears” funny. 🙂
