We’re getting ready for the ECN and ESA annual meetings in Denver, Colorado. While getting our talks and posters together, we thought up some special abilities and superpowers that would be useful to have at academic conferences:
The ability to be in two different places at once. Now you can attend all of those talks scheduled at the same time! No time-turners needed!

Super-speed. Great for getting to those talks scheduled one after the other, but located at different ends of the convention center.
The Iron Bottom, or the ability to sit in one place for hours without discomfort. Perfect for those business meetings that seem to go on and on with no end in sight. Would be a great ability for students in class too.
Built-in wifi. Have no idea what the presenter in the room is talking about? Now you can look it up without the trouble of pulling out your phone or laptop! Just don’t get distracted by Youtube.
We may not have super powers, but that shouldn’t stop entomologists from being heroes. Good luck and safe travels to everyone heading to Denver this year! We’ll see you there!
