The word is out now about our re-opening, and I am relieved to see that we are getting visitors and also wonderful comments in the guestbook. One visitor described it as a “reminder of how amazing it is to be alive!” If that’s not an endorsement then I don’t know what is! Check out the official Penn State press release and an article by our department’s own Asher Jones in Entomology Today.
With the public side now shaping up and the research side on more solid ground it’s time to revisit community interaction and think more broadly about student engagement. Those topics occupy a lot of our time these days. How would you want to engage insects and learn about entomology? How does a museum fit into that process. We have a million ideas, of course, but we’d love to hear yours.
