#WIP 2 Mondrianimation: Lessons Learned

As I move through the Mondrianimation project, I learned a couple of valuable things that I thought I’d share here.

One: Moving on.
Ironically enough, this is something I already know. The proof lies in the other multiple blogs I’ve created for different class on WordPress (sites I have yet to archive in one single space). In my personal life and personal projects, I tend to abandon what’s not working. Moving on is something I rather enjoy a little too; after all it absolves responsibility. However, today I learned that I should compartmentalize lessons and notes learned in what I choose to leave for next time.

Which leads into point two: Accuracy vs. Precision.
Midway through my project, I was faced with a decision. I completed my model and it was really accurate to the painting but it lacked precision. The objects didn’t snap together. Now, I could choose to go back into the model and fix the precision or I could leave it as is.

I chose to leave as is; I moved on.

But not without making notes about what I need to work on — precision— for the next project. This combination of moving on and making notes will definitely help me in my personal work process and flow.
