Dear Senior Me,

First off, congrats on graduating! I am proud that your dreams and aspirations were able to get you to the point you are now, hopefully with a great job. I know that the beginning of summer session was a huge adjustment and took a little while to get used to, but in just six weeks, you have already made amazing friends, learned how to do laundry, mastered a college campus, and (almost) completed two college classes! Though I never doubted for a second I’d be able to do, it is still pretty cool to say that I was able to do it. Even though at first summer session was not your first choice, it turned out to be the best case scenario because the transition to fall will be much easier, even though I am still a little nervous! In six weeks, I flourished into a more independent, intelligent, and confident person, so I can only imagine that throughout these four years that these qualities have just been enhanced.

Throughout your four years at Penn State, I hope you accomplished everything you wanted to and more, such as studying abroad in either Greece or Italy,  joining greek life, participating in Thon, cheering on at football games, joining clubs, getting a part-time job, making lifelong friends and millions of other things that are out of your comfort zone, while continuing to take care of yourself and your body and maintaining good academic standing.  Though it would surprise me if you switched out of the College of Communications, I know whatever you chose to do is because you know that that job is your passion and because it feels right. I hope you took advantage of every opportunity Penn State threw your way academically to help you succeed, such as the internships offered, advice from academic advisors, and assistence from professors.

Throughout the rest of your life, remember to stay true to yourself and do what makes you happy. You have always worked hard and been independent, and you have never stopped fighting for what you believe in. Never forget the values Penn State has taught you. It was always your dream to rock the blue and white and even though it’s over, your four years here will always be a part of who you are. Continue to take the world with a storm and make not only yourself proud, but mom, dad, and the Penn State community proud as well.

With love,

Freshman Lauren
