Being at Penn State for the summer has been great so far, and lately, it has me thinking about what things will be like in the fall. I have come to realize that since Penn State is such a huge campus, a lot of walking everyday is necessary. I do not mind the walking because this is such a beautiful campus, but in the fall, things will only get worse. Most of us will be in East Halls which is out of the way of almost everything, especially downtown. The walk to town from Pollock or South Halls is … [Read more...]

A Constant Sweat (Blog #4)
Oh the things I would do for some air conditioning right about now. This past week, I have discovered that air conditioning is one of the things we tend to take for granted. In the summer, I never really had to deal with no air conditioning, except if it broke for a couple of days at my house, or if I went to a sleep away hockey camp. As a student living on 8th floor Beaver, cool would not be a the word to describe the temperature of my dorm. The first couple of weeks were bearable, but the … [Read more...]
Arts Fest: So Much Talent in One Place (Blog #3)
This is only the third blog post and I am quickly running out of things to write about, so it is a good thing I went to Arts Fest. I do not really find art interesting, but as I said before I needed something to write about, and I was not doing much of anything at the moment so it couldn't have hurt to go. This was my first Arts Fest at Penn State because I do not live close to this area, so I really … [Read more...]
Dorm Life: A Lot of Sharing (Blog #2)
It certainly will take some getting used to thats for sure. Living in a dorm is not one of the things about college people look forward to. Some people have never even experienced sharing a room with somebody else. Most of us are coming from a situation in which we have our own room and maybe a bed larger than the ones in the dorms, to a situation that requires you to share a living space with someone who may be a complete stranger. My roommate for the summer and I get along just fine, but this … [Read more...]
A New Beginning (Blog #1)
Before I knew it, June 28th had arrived and I was in the car heading to Penn State for summer session. Where did the time go? I was a little disappointed that I could not spend the the summer with my friends back at home, but nevertheless, I was excited to start off the next four years on the right foot. Coming for summer session would be a great way to meet new people, get used to academic and social life, and begin to learn my way around campus. This would insure a smooth transition for me … [Read more...]
