Bring on the Fall

Summer is coming to a close, and while it’s sad, I’m really excited to start anew as a real freshman in the fall.

These past five weeks have been awesome. I’ve had a lot of fun here with the friends I’ve made, and I feel like I’ve gotten a good sense of living on my own. But, I’m pumped to go home for a week and just chill out. The constant flow of work compacted in these few weeks have really worn me out; I feel like my senioritis has transferred to college. I know juggling five classes in the fall will definitely be challenge, but I’m excited to take it on because these are classes where I think I’ll have some fun. Don’t get me wrong, Comm is great, but it’s just not for me, and I think I’ve found that out through being here. My interests lie somewhere else, and I want to explore them.

I’m super excited for everyone to get here in a couple weeks and meet new people and finally get involved in the community. I’m sure there were opportunities to do so in summer session, but I wasn’t interested in any of them or I just didn’t know about them. I’m excited to get involved in THON and just contribute to the organization somehow, even if I’m standing in the aisles of the BJC as security.

More than anything, I can’t wait for football season to start!! It’s been a long six months without football. When I heard about the Hall of Fame game this past Sunday and my team the Giants were playing, I was like a little kid on Christmas morning. I just missed watching it. And now, being at PSU, I can’t wait to experience a Big 10 football game as a student in our section!! I’ve been to a couple of games and the energy in that stadium is just insane. I’ve always wanted that kind of school spirit, because my high school never really had that. It’s actually one of the reasons I really wanted to go to a big school like PSU. 🙂

So here’s to closing this chapter in my life and opening up a new one. It’s been real summer session, but I’m ready to take on the fall.
