Tara Wyckoff

Tara Wyckoff, Penn State PRSSA Faculty Advisor

Expertise – Tara Wyckoff is an assistant teaching professor for the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State where she has been teaching 400-level courses, including the public relations senior capstone, since 2010. Tara has also served as the faculty advisor for Penn State organizations such as the Ad/PR Club, Lion Ambassadors, Blue White Society, Homecoming Committee. She has more than 15 years professional experience in marketing communications, working with technology start-ups, as well as nonprofits and educational institutions.

Professionalism/Experience – Her teaching interests include engaged scholarship, integrated marketing communications, strategic decision-making and sustainability. New courses developed under her direction include an embedded course on sustainable tourism, as well as a strategic public relations course. She is the recipient of two Penn State teaching awards: the Deans’ Excellence Award 2017 and the Alumni Excellence in Teaching Award 2018.

Education – Tara earned a bachelor’s degree from Penn State and a Master in Business Administration with a focus on marketing strategy from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.

Elizabeth Greenaway, Penn State PRSSA Industry Advisor

Elizabeth has served as a professional advisor to the Penn State PRSSA Chapter since 2018.

Expertise – In 2017, she started a public relations consulting and freelance business, Short and Sweet Communications. Through her business, she partners with other agencies and clients to develop and implement public relations strategies – a few of her favorites include social media, content strategy, storytelling and media relations. She also teaches a course on social media at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Professionalism/Experience – Before Elizabeth’s solopreneur adventure, she worked in an agency and in-house. Most recently, she served as a marketing and communications consultant for MoJo Active, a small marketing agency. Before that, she spent five years at Lycoming College, where she started as web content coordinator and was eventually promoted to director of marketing and public relations. Elizabeth began her career with Expectations Women’s Center – a nonprofit organization which is now one of her clients.

Education – During her time as a student at Susquehanna University, Elizabeth served as president of PRSSA and spent a semester in Washington, D.C., where she served as a White House Intern for President George W. Bush. In 2009, she earned her bachelor’s degree in communications, with a major in public relations.

Leadership/Commitment – Elizabeth is on the board of directors and serves as the social media co-chair for the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of PRSA. She also enjoys serving as the adviser to the Iota Mu Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta at Lycoming College.

More Information – She lives in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, with her husband (and Penn State alumnus), Brad, and has a passion for public relations, politics, ice cream and Penn State Football.
