This award will support our work establishing a cerebral organoid “minibrain” model system of Alzheimer’s disease and identifying dysregulated cellular communication pathways to serve as novel disease therapeutic targets. We’re excited to get started!

Our R01 proposal studying the interacting effects of vascular function and sleep on clearance of cellular waste products from the brain in the context of APOE variants has been funded by the National Institute on Aging! This project is a collaborative venture with the labs of Bruce Gluckman and Patrick Drew in the Center for Neural Engineering. Congratulations to us!

Becca was chosen to receive the NK and Irene Cheung Family Scholar scholarship to attend the Keystone Symposium on Neuro-Immune Interactions in the Central Nervous System, taking place June 5-9 in Keystone, Colorado. Becca’s abstract was chosen for award due to the relevance and significance of her research, as well as style and clarity of presentation. This is a huge honor, CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉
