Penn State Equine Sale History:
Penn State has been showcasing its equine Science program and selling quality American Quarter Horses for over twenty years. It all started with a livestock marketing class run by Dr. Nancy Diehl and Dr. Keith Bryan in 2002, focusing on teaching students how to successfully market a variety of animals. In the spring of 2003, Brian Egan took over teaching the class, collaborating with Dr. Bryan and continuing to improve the class. Throughout the years, students have become more and more involved, returning after taking the class to be committee chairs, assistant managers, and managers of the sale. Most of the sale today is entirely student-run. This sale allows students to become fundamentally engrained in the Equine Science program and learn about many aspects of the industry.
