The eportfolio is a collection of your experiences, activities, and creativity.
Not only can you start contributing the specific items you are instructed to add to your ePortfolio, you can also upload various files, including video and audio files as well as pictures. You can work on expanding and enhancing your ePortfolio throughout the program by changing the look, color, and the appearance of your ePortfolio to reflect who you are. This will be important as you continue developing your ePortfolio throughout your academic studies. You may want to add TABS for your hobbies, photography, a sport that you participate in, your travel, etc.
As you continue working on your ePortfolio, keep the following questions in mind:
Who am I? What is my message?
Where would I like to be in 2 years? 5 years?
Who is my target audience? Who will you share your ePortfolio with?
What is the purpose of my ePortfolio? Why would you want this audience to visit your ePortfolio? What do you want the audience to take away from your ePortfolio?
Include somewhere in your ePortfolio that the work is your own and include a statement of originality.
The goal, at the beginning, is to create your ePortfolio and get familiar with how the system works. Remember, it is not about your ability to create flashy web pages, rather it is about highlighting your accomplishments and experiences and demonstrating growth throughout your academic career as a developing RPTM professional! That way, if you choose, you can continue to work on it after you complete your studies and can use it in the future for job applications, professional development, etc.
