June 3 – Deadline for Keck Graduate Institute’s Summer Pharmacy Program

Keck Graduate Institute is still accepting applications for the Pre-Pharmacy Enrichment Summer Program (PrEP) on July 22-26, 2019.

The five-day Pre-Pharmacy Enrichment Summer Program (PrEP) at KGI is designed for prospective students (high school seniors, undergraduate students, and recent graduates) interested in a career in pharmacy. Participants will explore the pharmacy profession through interactive classes and hands-on activities that will provide an introduction to pharmacy practice. Students will be introduced to the many career opportunities available in the field of pharmacy and exposed to ways pharmacists can impact patients’ lives beyond the traditional dispensing role.

Program content may include laboratory sessions, clinical skills workshops, emerging pharmacy topics, problem-based learning, health information technology, poster presentations, professional development, an introduction to the pharmacy curriculum, and admission requirements.

Tuition – there is no tuition. Lunch is provided.

The University of New England will be hosting a Health Professions Degree Expo for prospective pre-health students. The goal of this event will be to help expose undecided pre-health students to the variety of healthcare programs offered by UNE and help them envision what area of healthcare they might enjoy studying the most.

At this event, we will have representation by current UNE students, teaching faculty, and admissions from the College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dental Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Social Work, Physician Assistant, Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Public Health, Dental Hygiene, Occupational Therapy, Humanities-to-Medicine (HuMed), Pre-Health Programs and more! The day’s program will include a demonstration/simulation, a Q&A session, and plenty of time for informal conversation between current and prospective students.

Founded in 1984, Camp Sunshine provides retreats combining respite, recreation and support, while enabling hope and promoting joy, for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families through the various stages of a child’s illness.

Camp Sunshine’s program is offered year-round and has the distinction of having been designed to serve the entire family in a retreat model. The program is free of charge to families and includes on-site medical and psychosocial support. Bereavement sessions are also offered for families who have experienced the death of a child from a supported illness.

    Note: Rochester-area attendees will be bussed to and from the RIT Inn and Conference Center. Please meet in the front parking lot no later than 7:30 a.m.  The bus will leave promptly at 7:45 a.m. and will return at 4:15 p.m.  Students will communicate with parents if there is any traffic or delays.

April 3 – University of the Sciences Health Professions Fair

Registration is now open for the University of the Sciences 2019 Health Professions Fair on Wednesday, April 3rd from 2-5 pm! We are located in Philadelphia and have nearly 400 pre-health students who are interested in pursuing medical or health professions school. This event is also open to all Philadelphia area students as well.

While you are in the Philadelphia area, we also encourage you to participate in the Philadelphia/Main Line Health Professions School Expo by Saint Joseph’s and Villanova Universities the following day.
