June 5 Registration Deadline- GW PT Grad Fair

The George Washington University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program would like to invite you to join us for an upcoming graduate fair and information session on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, to learn more about our DPT program and admissions process.

The event is designed to equip prospective PT students with information to make an informed decision about joining the profession. Attendees will:

  • Learn about the program’s approach to educating future clinicians
  • Hear from faculty, current students, and alumni through panel discussions and informal conversations
  • Receive an overview of our admissions criteria, tips for application success, and a tour of the program space
  • Learn about scholarship opportunities, including those for first generation and/or underrepresented students

All interested prospective applicants are welcome to register for the event.  We encourage students from underrepresented groups and students who are the first in their family to attend college to register and attend. Additionally, applicants who demonstrate financial need AND meet admissions waiver criteria may be eligible to receive a supplemental application fee waiver.

Meals and refreshments will be provided.

May 3 Deadline – OT and PT Summer Training at Thomas Jefferson University

The Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences at Thomas Jefferson University will be running Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Summer Training & Enrichment Programs this summer.

STEP-UP is an academic enrichment program for students who are interested in attending graduate school for occupational therapy or physical therapy and identify as the following:

  • Underrepresented minorities
  • First generation college students
  • Students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Individuals who identify as LGBTQ+

This on-campus program will be held on our Center City Campus in Philadelphia and offers an introduction to the field of occupational therapy or physical therapy, classroom and clinical observation experiences, time management and study skills training, personal statement and resume development, and an introduction to the admissions process for occupational therapy and physical therapy programs.

The program is offered at no cost to the student and will run Monday – Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 pm beginning on June 3 and ending on June 20.

If you know of any rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, or recent graduates who intend to apply to an occupational therapy program or a physical therapy program that may be interested in this experience, please have them complete the application for consideration.

The deadline to be considered for this program is Friday, May 3, 2019.

Taking place November 5-9, HPW is an exciting, FREE event featuring five days of interactive events for high school and college students interested in the health professions. The events include:

  • Monday, November 5: Keynote Addresses
  • Tuesday, November 6: Election Day Events, Events include panel discussions, Twitter chats, and live polling.
  • Wednesday, November 7: College Student Virtual Fair
  • Thursday, November 8: High School Student Virtual Fair
  • Friday, November 9: Money Matters, Events include budgeting guides and financial aid panels.
