Yuki G. Yoshida is an undergraduate student majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, B.S. At Penn State, she is involved in the Presidential Leadership Academy, Millennium Scholars Program, and Schreyer Honors College. Yuki’s research focuses on the discovery of small molecules that inhibit the activity of the Erm class of methyltransferases, which cause antibiotic resistance against macrolides (e.g., Erythromycin) in methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Outside of the lab, Yuki enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing the classical piano & jazz saxophone, and training in taekwondo as a black belt.
