We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Vijaykrishnan Narayanan, the director of the Microsystems Design Lab, has been awarded the prestigious Evan Pugh University Professorship. The professorships are named for Penn State’s founding president, Evan Pugh, a renowned chemist and scholar at the University’s helm from 1859 to 1864. This honor, the highest faculty distinction at Penn State, recognizes Dr. Narayanan’s outstanding contributions to computer science and engineering. It is an elite and prestigious distinction conferred by the University on only 79 faculty members since the establishment of the designation in 1960.
The Professorship is awarded to faculty recognized as leaders in their fields for exemplary contributions to teaching, research, and service, significantly enhancing university standards.
Dr. Narayanan is joined by four other esteemed faculty members: Prof. Réka Albert, Prof. Suresh Canagarajah, Prof. Clive Randall, and Prof. S. Shyam Sundar. Their dedication to research, education, and service exemplifies the excellence that defines Penn State.
Congratulations to all the recipients for their remarkable achievements!
