We have been using iLab since May 1, 2019. This online system has been designed to streamline the processing of project submissions and billing for all core services. A one-time registration, discussed below, is needed for your initial set up. Once you are registered, the system will enable you to place service requests, provide approvals, and monitor the progress of submissions.
All facility users are required to use the iLab system.
Beginning on May 1, 2019, all new Next Generation Sequencing projects, as well as all other services (qPCR, Microarray, Extractions and QC (RNA/DNA), miscellaneous orders and requests, any Training and Data Analysis separate from NGS projects), must be submitted and approved through iLab before reception of samples. Should you require assistance in completing request forms, please submit a consultation form and a member of the GS Core will respond as quickly as possible to either provide an answer or to schedule a meeting to discuss your options.
Important: With this new setup, we will no longer be able to accept any samples into the laboratory until the services have been properly requested and approved through iLab.
We understand that this transition may be difficult at times, as we are also updating our management system with the implementation of iLab. We ask for active participation and patience in this learning process and we will respond in kind.

To get started, you must register for an account:
1. Navigate to the core page:
1. In the upper-right-hand corner click ‘LOGIN’ A pop-up window should appear displaying, ‘PSU user, Click here to login or register using your institute login and password.’ Click the here link.
2. Login using your PSU credentials.
3. Upon successful authentication, you will be prompted to select your PI/lab from the pull-down list and provide your phone number.
4. Submit the completed registration form. Submission will notify your PI of your lab membership request.
5. You will be sent an email with basic instructions on using the system at this time. However, you will not be able to place orders with your new account until your PI has approved your lab membership request.
To create a service request:
Once you have been accepted into your PI’s lab and assigned an Account, you can submit requests.
1. Navigate to the core page:
1. In the upper-right-hand corner click ‘LOGIN’ A pop-up window should appear displaying, ‘PSU user, Click here to login or register using your institute login and password.’ Click the here link.
2. Enter your user id and password, and sign in.
3. Select the Request Services tab and click on the ‘Request Service’ button next to the service of interest.
4. You will be asked to complete a form and provide payment information for your request before submitting the request to the core.
5. Your request will be pending review by the core. The core will add charges and submit it back to you for approval. Make sure to watch for an email from iLab regarding your updated project.
