Special Education (Penn State University)
Background: Before starting the doctoral program, I worked for over 5 years as a special education teacher in South Korea, especially for intellectual disabilities and ASD. I received my Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Pusan National University in South Korea. During my master period, I had researched transition skills (cooking skills) for high school students with disabilities through the video peer modeling.
Current Interests: I am interested in the improvement of transition skills for students with developmental disabilities. Especially, how to improve their functional life skills and communication skills in the community based settings. Currently, I am exploring the effect of an intervention that uses handheld technology to support improve functional life skills and communication skills for students with ASD and CCN.
