Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (University of Arizona)
Background: I received my undergraduate degree at Miami University in Linguistics. Prior to earning my master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Penn State, I worked in education domestically and abroad, including working with English language learners and with individuals with complex communication needs. During this time, I gained an interest in AAC and the ways in which it is (or is not) implemented across settings.
Current Interests: My current research focuses on investigating augmentative and alternative communication supports and strategies for individuals with complex communication needs. I am also currently validating functional, ecologically valid assessment and treatment for individuals who have experienced traumatic brain injury.
Dissertation Chair: Dr. Jessica Brown
