BRIDGE is offering a peer support office hour for all graduate students in the Psychology Department. Graduate school is full of stressors and for individuals from marginalized groups, several additional burdens and stressors build up. These identity-based stressors are often dismissed by others, further compounding the negative impact by making you feel like you have to deal with these experiences alone. BRIDGE would like to provide an outlet for anyone who might need it. The peer support office hours would be a great space to voice these stressors with a fellow graduate student in a confidential way.
Here just a few examples of situations where you may utilize this resource:
- Inquire about existing resources you may find helpful
- Share and process issues related to discrimination of any kind
- Navigate grad school and life in State College as a member of a marginalized community
- Learn more about BRIDGE
- Provide feedback to BRIDGE
The office hours will be by appointment only. Our BRIDGE TA, Camilo Posada RodrÃguez, will be hosting these office hours.
NOTE: We always recommend reporting any behavior that you are uncomfortable with directly to the administration. However, this peer support can be used in conjunction, before, after, or just used as a sounding board to receive support from a peer.
