What is R?
R is a statistical programming language that allows you to wrangle datasets, run statistical analyses, conduct statistical modeling, and create data visualizations.
Why learn R?
R is becoming one of the dominant coding languages used in research to manage data and run statistical analyses. It is widely adopted across numerous disciplines as it is freely available with an active open source development community, it is compatible across different platforms (e.g., Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux), it is able to handle large data sets, and it has the ability to easily create dynamic data visualizations.
Workshop Details
- All sessions will be held in W315 Pattee Library.
- We will be accepting 25 participants per session.
- Bringing your own laptop is required.
- Open to all Graduate Students, Faculty, and Staff.
- No prior R experience necessary!
For this workshop series, we will be using all open-source, easily and freely downloadable software programs. Before coming to the workshop, you will need to download R and RStudio.
