Within the Frost Collections, we found a unit tray of stick insects (Phasmatodea) that had been identified as belonging to the species Stickus movicus. The genus Stickus was described by the late taxonomist I. Name in 1968.
Upon closer inspection of the unit tray, we found that the specimens identified as Stickus movicus actually belonged to a different species that had never been described before. We have remedied the situation, and these misidentified Stickus movicus specimens have now been named Stickus nonmovicus.
