This week’s session included samples collected by my lab in Arizona—yellow pan traps in the dessert around Biosphere2—while Mike pinned up more of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture survey samples, mainly the Cerambycidae.
It was fun to look at a diversity of insects from the desert southwest! These pan trap samples contained an extraordinary number of thrips. I’ll have to keep that in mind for ENT 432 next fall.
I think I mounted and accessed only a handful (40?) of pinned specimens, but I did manage to sort out some cool spiders too.
