There are many forms of advertisement that media uses to get the public to buy their items. In this advertisement poster, Forever 21 creates a poster that will get customers to but clothing and accessories. The poster catches one’s eyes because of the colors of Pink that standout in the Gray background color. The target audience is girls who shop at Forever 21 and who like the nerd style clothing. The poster is simple and to the point, showing the new line of clothing that is coming to their store and to get more girls to shop for these certain types of clothing. The store uses a young girl for the model on the poster to set an example of who would be wearing their clothing. The tone of this advertisement is playful because of the font that is used. Even though being a nerd is usually a negative term, here it is used as a positive trendy style of clothing.

I feel like Forever 21 uses the “nerd” and “different” stereotype a lot for their advertisement. I do agree that this picture is very playful and really can relate to anyone. I think its funny how they use “nerd” as their like go to for the type of girls this is for, but the model doesn’t look very nerdy to me. I think it would be really effective if they used like normal girls instead of models.
