What 16 new super earths? Yes, it is true astronomers have found 16 new “Super Earth” planets with one of them being capable of sustaining life because it falls in orbit around its star in a safe habitable zone in the same way that our planet does.
What does this mean? It means that we may not be the only planet that has life on it. I am not saying that there are aliens like the ones that you see on movies out there on this planet. But what I will say that it could be organisms such as bacteria, hosts like worms, or small insects like the ones that we find here on earth. If this “Super Earth” has water on it then it could be possible that it may contain organisms similar to fish. Wouldn’t it be cool if the planet contained the same organisms as ours, how could science explain that? I hope that some of these answers be explained during my life time. As the technology advances as lots of the other post proves by my fellow classmates, it shows that we are getting closer to answering some of the questions that scientist have spent their whole lives trying to answer.
But, these planets are far away and getting to them would be an ultimate challenge. I think our earth should be considered “Super” it is unbelievable and just like we have questions for planets that we have never seen. We also have questions about our magnificent planet that we all call home.

I hope our technology gets us there as soon as possible. Being able to travel to another planet and expand everything we have here to a whole another planet where we have the chance to start completely from scratch would do so much for the economy having an entirely new field for resources. After reading this, I wondered how possible it was to get to a planet like this but it turns out that with the technology right now, it would take just under 800,000 years to make it there which is longer than humans have even been around. Heres a link that goes into a little more detail about it.

I think the idea of life being able to be sustained on other planets is extremely fascinating! As cool as it would be to explore these planets. Our space travel isn’t advanced enough to allow us to travel at speeds where reaching these planets is reasonable.
With technology only advancing, I am super interested to see what happens to this new super earth. Life on this planet would give scientist so many answers that they have been looking for. Imagine the type of organisms that can even live on this planet. Super interesting article!
The idea of a “super Earth” is definitely a fascinating one! I wonder what the atmospheric composition is like. The media always emphasizes our need for water, but what about oxygen? If the chemical make-up of the atmosphere doesn’t contain enough oxygen, then living on the planet would be impossible. Even more frightening is the idea that the atmosphere of these planets might contain dangerous compounds which could kill lifeforms. For example, Mars’ atmosphere is 100% thinner than ours and is made up of 95% Carbon Dioxide. The lack of oxygen would immediately choke out a human being. However, some forms of life might not have the same atmospheric requirements as we do. I, for one, hope that we do find life on these planets. It would be fascinating to see how other extraterrestrial lifeforms live!
