Anuja Jayasekara

Anuja S. Jayasekara is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Penn State Behrend College, where he investigates the structure and crystallization dynamics of polymers using fast scanning calorimetry and advanced structural analysis techniques. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Tufts University in 2025 under the mentorship of Prof. Peggy Cebe. His doctoral research centered on electrospinning poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and developing methods to quantify its various crystalline morphologies. He received his BS in Physics from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Jayasekara’s broader research interests span electrospinning, polymer crystallization kinetics, rheology of green-solvent polymer solutions, and the design of fouling-resistant filtration membranes. He has authored multiple first-author publications and presented his work at national and international conferences. His academic and industrial experience at Kureha Corporation, Japan reflects his focus on connecting fundamental polymer science with real-world applications in energy, sustainability, and advanced materials.
